How to use the Image Cropper

Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a photo to a square?
Add your photo, choose 1:1 under Aspect ratio, then drag the square over the part you want to keep and download. A 1:1 crop is the right shape for Instagram posts and most profile pictures.
Can I crop an image into a circle?
Yes. Choose Circle under Shape. The corners outside the circle are saved as transparent, so download it as PNG or WebP. JPG can't store transparency, which is why it's hidden for circle crops.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. The cropped area keeps the original pixels at full resolution; nothing is resized or blurred. The size of the result is shown under the buttons before you download.
Which ratio should I use for Instagram, YouTube or stories?
Use 1:1 for a square Instagram post, 4:5 for a portrait post, 9:16 for stories, Reels and Shorts, and 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and widescreen video.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping happens on your device, so your photo is never sent to a server.
