Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my images get?
Phone photos saved as JPG usually shrink by 50–80% at 75% quality with no difference you can see. Converting PNG screenshots to WebP often saves 70–90%.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens on your device with your browser's built-in image encoder, so your files never leave your computer or phone.
Why didn't my PNG get much smaller?
PNG is a lossless format, so re-saving it barely changes the size. Choose WebP as the output format to shrink a PNG dramatically while keeping its transparency.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like, up to 50 MB each, then use Download all to get them in a single ZIP file.
What quality should I use for a website?
75–80% in WebP or JPG works well for most websites. For images wider than the page, also cap the size at 1920px, which cuts the file size much further.
